A week of violence in Cerocahui, brothers Paul and Armando are still missing after attack in Chihuahua

8 days have passed since the murder of the Jesuits Joaquín Mora and Javier Campos and the disappearance of the brothers Paul Osvaldo and Armando Berrelleza Rábago, all allegedly committed by José Noriel Portillo Gil, nicknamed el Chueco, without the authorities having been able to arrest him.
According to the Chihuahua Prosecutor’s Office, Portillo Gil deprived the two brothers, also inhabitants of the community of Cerocahui, of their freedom after a team he allegedly sponsors lost a baseball game against the team where the brothers played.
The state prosecutor, Roberto Fierro, narrated that the Chueco arrived at the brothers’ house, shot Paul, then kidnapped Armando and set fire to the place.

That same day, the alleged perpetrator interacted with Pedro Palma, a well-known tourist guide in the area whom he deprived of his freedom. Although the man managed to escape, he arrived “policontundido” at the temple where the Jesuit priests Javier Campos and Joaquín Mora were located, who were also killed while trying to help him.
A day later, the territorial coordination of Sembrando Vida in Chihuahua regretted the facts and published a skeleton for the death of Javier Campos and Paul Berrelleza, beneficiaries of the social program.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Chihuahua said that “the search continues” for the brothers, who have conducted interviews with relatives, who ratified the complaint for the facts, however there is no progress in their location.
Only the authorities announced the reward of 5 million pesos for information that helps the capture of the Chueco, “the highest reward that has been offered in the history of the state,” according to the state prosecutor.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security of Chihuahua arrested his cousin, César Iván Portillo, as part of the actions to clarify the murders.
The apprehension of César Iván Portillo and another man was made while they were traveling in a vehicle in possession of two long guns, a handgun and drugs.
