Chau parking meters: the parking measured in CABA is paid through an app

Metered parking applies in CABA for more than 3,500 spaces charged, in the area of macrocentro and microcentro in the neighborhoods of Balvanera, Recoleta, Retiro, Monserrat and San Nicolás, where $ 45 per hour of parking on public roads is charged. According to official government sources, at the moment it is not planned to add a number of parking lots as speculated after the law that was voted in the Buenos Aires legislature to simplify traffic rules and add parking. However, they acknowledged that the tender specifications included the possibility of adding spaces.
At the same time, an operation will begin to remove from the streets of Buenos Aires the last remaining parking meters and the ticket vending machines, which total about 120.The benefit of this new system is that those neighbors who are residents of the tariffed zones will be exempt from the payment of metered parking, and they will be able to leave a vehicle within a radius of up to 300 meters from their home without any cost with prior registration in a registry for which must have the payment of the ABL and the patent up to date. In case of not having a smartphone or not preferring this payment method, drivers can pay in cash in the participating shops that will be identified with a “sticker”. The verification of the metered parking will be in charge of traffic agents who will circulate on board motorcycles with cameras that will register the patents of the cars and verify the payment. When the person pays the fee, it will be settled in the digital system, which will make it out of the possibility of receiving a fine. But, when the non-payment is detected, the system will give 15 minutes of tolerance and after that time, the patent will be sent to the processing center to perform the corresponding infringement.
