Popular religiosity in the construction of cultural identities in the May region

Popular religiosity emphasizes the consideration of symbols and expressions of the religious phenomenon in all kinds of cultural constructions present in the May region, the importance of popular religiosity in everyday life and in the construction of individual and collective cultural identities.
I refer to the traditional festivals dedicated to saints, virgins and dead, devotions, miraculous apparitions, the symbiosis between popular Catholicism and spiritualism, indigenous syncretism, whose traditions are full of divinities with ritual characteristics of pre-Hispanic times.
It is a great food to our spirit to live religiosity from a popular approach that strengthens our identity and allows us to recognize the historical ties that exist in pre-Hispanic and current culture, in order to revalue each expression that we observe in the daily life of the Faith and the manifestations for being in constant communication with our creator, as well as the universe itself.
To live religiosity in our context is to live a substratum of vital perspectives that should not be dispatched as common sense or superstitions typical of illiterate ignorance.
The creation or recreation of the popular religious imaginary contains doctrinal interpretations more or less learned from the Christian faith, but interpreted or mixed with other beliefs and adapted to daily life both individually and collectively. The result is a shared worldview in the face of hegemonic culture.
Popularized symbols express daily life in its main concerns, pain or poverty, joy or sadness, loss or encounter have their own cultural spaces and times in the popular imagination.
There are desires to exorcise evil and promote good, the past is conjured up in the present to open the way to the future always expected and exposed to the blessings of singular or plural divinity. Each popular place can be transformed into sacred by virtue of the religious popular will.
As we know, indigenous culture has contributed culturally in the popular religiosity of the urban area, we can appreciate in each religious manifestation a passionate influence that is exalted in the pilgrimages, the music, the color of the festivities, the social cohesion from the patron saint of each town of the May region. In our region, throughout the year, festivals and traditions linked to popular religiosity are celebrated in the different communities, considering these manifestations an area of opportunity to enrich our culture.
In such patron saint festivities social coexistence is promoted, in which we appreciate popular festivals where Mexican snacks are sold, rich flavors of regional gastronomy, cultural programs and of course the praxis of faith, thus creating harmony and a space for exchange of peace and social balance.
Much has been written about the identity of the Mexican, it has been difficult to define ourselves as a united nation and despite our cultural, educational, economic and social contrasts if there is a point of union that does not distinguish race, nor social class: it is the identification with the Virgin of Guadalupe. Symbol of encounter among all Mexicans, even among non-believers. His message is one of peace, reconciliation, solidarity and unity.
In these first 12 days of December, we can enjoy one of the most Mexican traditions that defines us as a people of faith, love, solidarity in our culture, with our neighbor, a sensitive community where institutions, companies, and society in general are inserted in the Guadalupan tradition sheltering us in a construction that enables the cohesive crazy identity in a message of love.
To wait with affection and sincere devotion, with respect and deep admiration, every passage of time, where every beat flows, to feel the feeling of the national heart, where the rain perfumes the hot day, the trees feel the history of their past and the clouds tear the color of the sky, while the eyes glimpse the beauty of the gaze of the Faith, on that altar where the sensibility of a faithful people sings horrifying him with the voice of the soul.
The worker of any factory, the businessman, the secretary, the masons, the teachers, the boleros, the housewife, the students and of course the children, recognize in the Virgin of Guadalupe the Mother of God, and especially they want her as Mother of all this people, so she is sung. There are many who year after year, with his voice he singsWith great conviction, faith, devotion, dedication where a dialogue is built, the traditional mañanitas to the Virgin of Guadalupe, become a national duty, it is the perfect union between 1st mystic, the spiritual and earthly life.
