Authorities in the state of Campeche reported a search of the home of Alejandro Moreno, national president of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
According to the State Prosecutor’s Office and Campeche Governor Layda Sansores, the search warrant was approved by a judge.
In the images, shared by the governor on her social networks, elements of the Ministerial Police are seen knocking on the door of the residence, however, when they were not attended, the authorities entered the force.

According to local media, the Attorney General of Campeche, Renato Sales Heredia, led the search, which lasted more than six hours, at the home of Alejandro Moreno, located in Lomas del Castillo.
On June 14, the State Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection of one of the properties of Moreno, former governor of Campeche.
Alleged illicit enrichment
So far, federal and state authorities have failed to clarify the fate of more than 3.8 billion pesos of federal resources that were transferred to Campeche during the government of Alejandro Moreno.
Data from the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF), highlight that between 2016 and 2018 (the full years that Moreno governed Campeche) irregularities were identified for 4 thousand 263 million pesos of which, only evidence had been found to solve the correct use of 412 million pesos.
In one of the last audios released by Governor Layda Sansores, the alleged irregularities of Moreno were exposed, who is heard asking for 12 million pesos in exchange for renting his land and thus not having to put them in his annual statement.
