The President signed the Tax Relief Act into law

President Alberto Fernández promulgated the Tax Relief Law for Small Taxpayers and Self-Employed, which will benefit 4.5 million monotributistas and 140,000 self-employed, this afternoon at Casa Rosada together with the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa; the Minister of Security, Aníbal Fernández; and the deputies of the Frente de Todos Germán Martínez -head of the bloc-, Cecilia Moreau, Paula Penacca, Leandro Santoro, Eduardo Valdés and Tanya Bertoldi. The measure, which will take effect from this month, updates the billing amount of monotributistas to avoid having to change categories and pay higher fees. In addition, it increases the deductions of earnings paid by the self-employed.

The semi-annual recategorization will be enabled from July 11 to 29, while the maturity of the payment of the monthly obligation will be extended to July 27, official sources reported. On the other hand, the extension of the maximum billing limits by category will have a progressive orientation that will privilege people registered in the lowest categories by allowing them to invoice up to 60% more. In this way, the rule provides for the exemption of the tax component for 1.7 million people registered in categories A and B who do not receive another income, such as a working salary in a relationship of dependency. It also includes the deduction of self-employed workers who pay income tax. The rule increased the special deduction from 2 to 2.5 times, which will reduce the tax burden, benefiting workers with incomes of up to eight million pesos that concentrate 95% of the self-employed reached by the tax.
