Martín Palermo and the possibility of directing Boca: “It’s a wish”

After the departure of Sebastián Battaglia from the technical direction of Boca, Martín Palermo, another of the most important idols in the history of Boca, was asked about the possibility of being the new coach and clarified that “it is a desire” that he has. In this sense, in an interview with TyC Sports, he was asked if he would sit down with Juan Román Riquelme to work together and replied: “You have to see the circumstances in which he finds himself. You have to be prudent.” The moment you want to talk to me, why is it. What situation the club is in, what they plan to do, what the project is. It’s a matter of talking as if one is compatible with the other or not, so we can work together,” he added.

In this way, he was asked if it is a dream to manage Boca, a club of which he is the highest scorer in history: “It is a wish. Obviously I dream of it for the fact of being at the club again, of going back to work from somewhere else. To be able to work and do what I like. Surely that time will come to fulfill that wish.” Finally, he acknowledged that his relationship with Román improved in the last time: “I spoke again to ask for players for Aldosivi and the most good,” he commented and closed: “It was uncomfortable that moment for not having been able to celebrate with him, for not being able to hug each of my teammates. We had different ways of thinking, we did not get to have a relationship of friendship as I could do and I still have with Guillermo and Gustavo (Barros Schelotto), with the Duck (Abbondanzieri), with (Diego) Cagna. With them I maintain a more fluid contact.”
