Carlos Vives triumphs with his first concert in Spain

Madrid. The concert with which the Colombian singer-songwriter Carlos Vives has started his brief tour of Spain became a true tribute to Latin music with which he made the Starlite audience dance in Marbella to the rhythm of some of his most successful songs such as ‘La Bicicleta’ and ‘Fruta Fresca’. Known for fusing the most popular genres of Colombia such as cumbia or vallenato with pop and rock, his show began with an audiovisual projection in which -precisely- it was talked about and that included images of both the artist himself years ago and some of the musicians with whom he began. After the video and with all the members of his band on stage, the spotlights were turned on, the music began to sound at full volume, the light cannons to spit fire and an intense white smoke flooded the stage. Wrapped in it and wrapped by the cheerful sound of the accordion and the sharp sound of the Colombian bagpipe, Carlos Vives. The mere intuition of the Presence of the Colombian on stage brought to its feet the auditorium of the Cantera de Nagüeles in its entirety, which erupted in a clamorous applause when the artist stepped forward, microphone in hand, and began to sing ‘Pa’ Mayte’. In his more than four decades on stage, Carlos Vives (winner of sixteen Grammy Awards, 14 of them Latin) has reaped numerous successes and has managed to place a dozen of his songs at number one on the music charts of Spain and Latin America. ‘La Gota Fría’, a classic vallenato and “the first song that brought us to Spain”, he commented with a big smile as a presentation when he was about to interpret it; again, applause, cheers, hands up and dancing. Very committed to his homeland, he spoke with affection (and concern) of the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta in the delta of the Magdalena River, a “sister” region to the Doñana park (he explained), which requires attention so he will allocate part of the benefits of the concert to his recovery, he recalled before singing “Cumbiana”. Carlos Vives enjoyed the evening and gave everything on stage during a concert of almost two hours in which he performed a score of his best-known melodies such as ‘Baloncito Viejo’, ‘Carito’ or ‘Robarte un beso’, and in which he shared with those present his satisfaction for returning to Andalusia and the Starlite stage. in return, he applauded him, cheered him, sang and danced with him from the first to the last of the songs of the repertoire that the Colombian singer-songwriter performed on the first night in which, after a week of intense heat wave in Spain, the high temperatures gave a truce to Marbella. After several farewell amagos came the inevitable end of the concert with the move ‘Teke Teke’ and ‘When we meet again’ that, without a doubt, they left a great taste in the mouth and to the audience asking, voice in shout, “do not go, another”. We recommend you read: From Marbella Carlos Vives will head to Cádiz, where he will perform on Saturday, July 16, and from there to Murcia, where he will do it on the 19th; then he will travel to Italy to sing in Milan on the 21st and return to Madrid, Spain, on the 28th of this month to say goodbye to the Spanish public and continue his summer tour of Europe.
