SSC CDMX arrests 3 workers with $50,000 in cash

Three uniformed men in possession of 50,000 dollars in cash were arrested on Thursday by capital police when driving inside a value van without a delivery order at the Mayor’s Office Tlalpan.La Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) was patrolling on the Mexico-Cuernavaca highway, in the Dolores neighborhood, when they noticed that a white vehicle belonging to a securities transfer company did not have the corresponding license plate. When asking the driver to stop to notify the Traffic Regulations of the fault, the police noticed that the three crew members were carrying firearms so they were asked to get off the unit and show the corresponding documentation. After some reluctance and lack of identification, the individuals failed to prove the possession of the two firearms they brought with them inside the unit or the transfer of 50,000 US dollars. The unit was inspected and, in addition to the pistols, four magazines and 84 useful cartridges were secured. There was also a white plastic package with approximately 50 thousand US dollars, of which they did not explain the legal origin, nor did they have sender and receiver labels or delivery orders. Finally, the men of 42, 53 and 54 years of age were arrested and placed at the disposal of the agent of the Public Ministry, who will be in charge of initiating the corresponding investigation folder and will define their legal situation.
