Fraud in the Army: Minister of the Court Martial began to be investigated in “Tourism companies”

As part of the “Tourism Companies” edge, in the case of fraud to the treasury within the Army, the visiting minister Romy Rutherford opened an investigation against the colonel and minister in the Court Martial, Isaías Martínez.
It is the edge known as Travel Agency, which consisted of asking for quotes for official trips for the highest possible price, to then make refunds or, well, use part of the money on personal trips.

As reported by La Tercera, Martínez Castillo, who has a friendly relationship with the former commander in chief of the military institution Ricardo Martínez — prosecuted for the fraud of 44 million pesos — and voted in favor of his freedom, is investigated as an accused after making a trip to Germany on secondment, but that in reality it was a vacation, along with possible irregular refunds of money, which is being analyzed by the Anti-Corruption Brigade of the PDI.
The investigation was being handled in a reserved manner, until the State Defense Council requested that Isaías Martínez cease to have access to the case against Ricardo Martínez.
The CDE maintained that “it is evident that he is legally involved to hear the case, given that it discusses and discusses identical matters (trips) in which he himself, as has already been pointed out, is being investigated as an accused (…) Therefore, Mr. Isaías Martínez Castillo has at least a personal interest in having a pending case in which the same issue that the judge must rule is aired, which naturally detracts from his impartiality since he is being investigated for trips made by him abroad. ”
The CDE requested that Colonel Martínez be disqualified for incompatibility in the Court Martial, in addition to knowing the cases of fraud against the Army, since “Mr. Isaías Martínez Castillo has in this case at least the quality of accused.”

For his part, the current commander in chief of the Army, Javier Iturriaga, cannot remove him from his position in the Court Martial.
