Crisis of confidence – The Counter

Mr. Director,
Chile is the third country in Latin America where people are least trusted. Why? The results are an “expression of a strong crisis of interpersonal trust and that is also related to the lack of trust towards public and private institutions in the country,” Ipsos said.
A few days ago, Luis Enrique Yarur gave an extensive interview in a newspaper where he pontificated on different issues, despite having a long history that closely links him with abusive charges of remedies to patients in pharmacies, environmental pollution in a vineyard, abusive collections to debtors of credits, illegal financing of politics, damages to minority shareholders and conflicts with unions … The list is long, so I could continue to mention cases that have generated, precisely, discomfort, indignation and citizen distrust.
I never saw anything like it in the performance of my father Jorge Yarur Banna or my uncle Carlos Yarur Banna -father of Luis Enrique- both brothers examples of correction and for whom to this day the unions and workers of the Bank keep great affection, closeness and gratitude.
It is time for the Luis Enrique Yarur of this country to stop pontificating and assume the serious damage they have produced and produce in national trust and coexistence, because the truth is that no one believes them.

Kind regards
Jorge Yarur Bascuñán.
