Activists insist AMLO to change the line of the work

Activists and experts from the #SélvameDelTren collective again ask President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to tour the area in which section 5 of the Mayan Train is being built and change the layout of the work.
Through a statement, the collective asks the president to dialogue with specialists in the field and avoid a disaster in that natural area.
“4 months ago we respectfully asked you to tour the area of section 5, to know the natural wonders that are underground and to testify to the grievance towards the jungle,” reads the brief statement.

This, after the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur) said that a judge revoked the definitive suspensions of three amparos that stop the construction of Section 5 of the Mayan Train, which contemplates going from Playa del Carmen to Tulum, Quintana Roo.
Javier May, director of Fonatur, said that the agreements revoked the suspensions of amparos 884/2022, 923/2022 and 1003/2022.

“The work has always been legal, but we met all the requirements of the judge to leave no doubt,” said the official, who warned that “soon” 3 other amparos will also be resolved.

Fragmentation of the ecosystem, gentrification, lack of water and aquifer damage, this is the list of ALL the affectations that Section 5 of the #TrenMaya will leave, according to Guillermo D’Christy (@gchristy65), member of @SelvameMX#MeLoDijoAdela with @Adela_Micha pic.twitter.com/hx10tnzC6H
