The Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, addressed the current situation in the north of the country, where there has been an increase in violent events. In that sense, he did not rule out decreeing a State of Emergency in the place.
“We do not rule out any of the instruments, but always looking for explicit results,” he said.

On the other hand, he referred to the bill that seeks to facilitate the expulsion process for foreigners who commit crimes, which already has a first draft and congressional support for the initiative is expected.
“It’s important that we focus on what the goals are. We agree that we need to dismantle the organized gangs in the north, show the power of the state, make preventive measures and that is what we have been working on,” he said.
“We hope to analyze more measures that will allow us to give peace of mind to the citizens, especially in these regions. On the bill, we have committed to enter it in August. There is a first draft ready, but a review is missing and we expect the support of parliamentarians,” he said.
