14 people rescued lost in the Ajusco

The Pico del Águila, located in the wooded area of Ajusco in the Tlalpan mayor’s office of Mexico City, is one of the favorite spots for climbers and adventurers to escape the chaos of the country’s capital and be in contact with nature. However, not everyone ends up having a great experience as it is common for groups of walkers to end up getting lost among the dense vegetation of the place, as happened to 14 people on Sunday afternoon. The explorers were lost in the Picacho Ajusco Circuit, at kilometer 19 + 500, in the San Miguel Ajusco neighborhood; among them were 13 adults and a minor in the area. When they were lost, one of the members of the group, Elizabeth Camarillo, asked for help through her Twitter account, hoping someone could see the message and help them: “WE ARE LOST 15 people in the eagle’s beak, please if anyone sees this message send us help we go up the trough,” he wrote.  Fortunately, his tweet came to the view of the Contact Unit of the Secretary SSC CDMX, with whom he coordinated to provide the coordinates as well as the location: “Thanks to all of us we are still here I have little signal and stack, the coordinates are Long-99.073 lat 19.20752, 13 people are with me including my 12-year-old son.”  Personnel from the Rescue and Medical Emergencies Squad (ERUM) arrived at the scene in coordination with police from the Sector of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and specialized rescue teams, to find the group of 14 people. Happy ending for Elizabeth Finally the head of the SSC, Omar García Harfuch, reported through his Twitter account that the 14 people were sheltered and transferred to a safe area to be treated by paramedics. We recommend you read: 40 felines will be transferred to the Culiacán Zoo, rescued from the pseudo sanctuary of Ajusco
