TCR South America: Jorge Barrio will have his debut at Termas de Río Hondo

The Toyota team announced its incorporation to the TCR South America, after appointing the Argentine Jorge Barrio and the Brazilian Thiago Camilo, to integrate the team, which will make its debut in the sixth round of the championship of the specialty, which will be held at the Termas de Río Hondo racetrack in Santiago del Estero, on August 27 and 28. In this way, the team led by Darío Ramonda will start its sports program in this Endurance stage -as happened in Interlagos- of the TCR South America division, and the brand’s projects in the remaining series that are being developed in the rest of the world, with the homologation of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). With regard to Camilo, 36, he was born in São Paulo and currently races with an Ipiranga Racing Corolla in Stock Car; like Matías Rossi and Rubens Barrichello, he is part of the Toyota Gazoo Racing project, and in his campaign in the Brazilian category he registers 37 victories. One of the brilliant appearances of the last three years in Argentine motorsport, Pinamarense Jorge Barrio, 18, is a two-time champion of the National Formula (2020-21) and champion of TC 2000 (today TC2000 Series) last season, with Renault Fluence, competes today in the official Toyota team of TC2000.
