Jorge Arganis temporarily leaves the SICT for health reasons

The head of the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jorge Arganis Díaz-Leal, will temporarily leave office for health reasons, the agency itself reported without offering more details.
According to the agency, the head of the Ministry of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, appointed Jorge Nuño Lara as head of the SICT office.
“Jorge Arganis Díaz-Leal will rejoin the SICT in the coming days,” the agency said.

Arganis began as secretary of the SICT in July 2020, replacing Javier Jiménez Espriú. Previously, he was Secretary of Works during the government of Marcelo Ebrard in Mexico City.

Arganis Díaz Leal is a civil engineer graduated from the Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM, where he has been a professor for 24 years.
In 1963, he worked in the General Directorate of Projects and Laboratories of the Ministry of Public Works, and then as a resident engineer in the General Directorate of Works and Facilities of the UNAM; he was Technical Advisor to the General Directorate of PEMEX; Director of the Society of Alumni of the Faculty of Engineering (SEFI) and the National Chamber of the Construction Industry (CNIC).
He has also worked in ICA Group, was a consultant for the company Nielsen-Wurster Group, Inc.
Between 1998 and 2006 he served as General Manager of the Asphalt Plant in Mexico City. That year he was appointed Secretary of Works and Services of the capital during the government of Marcelo Ebrard, who is currently head of the Mexican Foreign Ministry.
