TCR: Jorge Barrio scored his first pole in the category

The pinamarense Jorge Barrio, with Toyota, marked today his first pole in the TCR South America with a view to the seventh and penultimate date of the championship of the specialty, which will be held tomorrow at the Buenos Aires autodrome Oscar and Juan Gálvez.

Barrio, 18 years old and former formula Renault and TC2000 champion, set a time of 1m20s784 to travel the 3,353 meters of circuit 9 of the Buenos Aires coliseum, escorted by the Cordoban Juan Ángel Rosso (Honda) and the Uruguayan Santiago Urrutia (Lynk & Co). In its second official presentation, the Toyota Gazoo Racing team got with Barrio the first “pole” in TCR South America and in a historic and challenging circuit as the “nine” of the Gálvez.The tigrense José Manuel Sapag (Lynk & Co) was fourth at 0s751, fifth was the Uruguayan Juan Manuel Casella (at 0s768), and sixth was the Cordoban Fabricio Pezzini (Lynk & Co), which is at the head of the championship positions. The session had a couple of stops with a red flag because the Chubutense Ignacio Montenegro was lost in the curve and ran out of time with the Audi; and by the failure in the straight opposite the pits of the Cupra of the Brazilian Alceu Feldmann.Tomorrow there will be two races: the first at 9.38 to 17 laps or 30 minutes and the next at 12.25, to 20 laps or 35 minutes.
