Mbappé refused to be part of a photo shoot with the French National Team

Two months before Qatar 2022, Kylian Mbappé is involved in a new controversy with the French Football Federation (FFF) after refusing to be part of a photo shoot of the national team, as a protest with the use of his image by certain sponsors of the ‘Bleus’. In this context, it is the second time in which the attacker refuses to give up his image in advertising sessions planned by the Federation: “Mbappé and his representatives regret very much that no agreement could be reached,” said the player.

Likewise, the scorer repudiated the way in which he selects his sponsors: he rejects fast food or betting. Through his lawyer, Delphine Verheyden, he is trying to modify the convention on image rights that he signed in 2017, when he made his debut with the national team. Like his teammates, Mbappé receives 25,000 euros per match with the ‘Bleus’, while the French Football Federation can sell his image to sponsors. As he argued, it is not about money, since what he earns he donates to different entities, but he does not want to be linked to what certain brands represent.
