The Panthers achieved their first triumph in the World Cup in The Netherlands-Poland

The Argentine women’s volleyball team achieved today its first triumph in the World Cup in the Netherlands-Poland by winning against the Czech Republic by 3-1, with partials of 25-20, 20-25, 25-22 and 25-22.The match, corresponding to the third date of group D of the contest and played in the city of Arnhem, had an even development, although “The Panthers” knew how to impose their game in the key moments. In turn, the cast commanded by Hernán Ferraro had the outstanding performances of Candelaria Herrera, top scorer of the match with 17 points, Yamila Nizetich and Daniela Bulaich, who were important when defining the game.

After the defeats against China and Brazil, the national cast recovered at the right time and added its first victory in the contest. In addition, they obtained the second triumph against a European team in World Cups. The first precedent was the 3-2 against Spain in Peru 1982.The next meeting of the national team will be next Friday against Colombia, from 13.00 (Argentina time). In case of a triumph, the team led by Hernán Ferraro will be close to a historical event, the first qualification to the next round of a World Cup.To close the group stage, “The Panthers” will clash against Japan next Sunday, October 2 at 9.15 (Argentina time).
