Aguas Andinas and Municipality of Las Condes announce complaint against person who destroyed a tap over the weekend

Over the weekend, a record went viral showing a person destroying a tap with a stone in the commune of Las Condes, while his friends encouraged him to do so.
Given this fact, the company Aguas Andinas -in charge of the distribution of drinking water in much of the Metropolitan region- announced a complaint against those responsible for the destruction of the tap. Through a statement they repudiate the actions of the young people, indicating that “in accordance with current legislation it constitutes a crime.”
Likewise, in the text that Radio Bio Bío had access, the drinking water company calls on citizens to take care of the taps, since the region is going through a period of water scarcity and “they are part of the essential infrastructure in the city.”
Municipality of Las Condes will also file a complaint
The mayor of Las Condes, Daniela Peñalosa, joined the condemnation of this fact indicating that “the destruction of this tap is an intolerable crime that could have very serious consequences.”
It also maintains that they have not yet identified the people, but through a citizen complaint it was possible to verify that there are three subjects involved. “As the Municipality of Las Condes together with Aguas Andinas we will file a complaint against those responsible for the destruction of a tap this weekend. They must bear the costs of reparation and have an exemplifying penalty. Such criminal acts are intolerable.”
