Campus Summit brought together more than 3000 attendees

Campus Summit, the largest experience of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, took place at the Buenos Aires Convention Center on October 12 with the participation of more than 70 local and international speakers and more than 3000 attendees. Campus Summit 2022 revolutionized the CEC with the participation of Main Speakers such as Paz Álvarez (Zavía Bio), Alfie, Asier Arranz (NVIDIA), Clara O’ Farrell (NASA), John “Maddog” Hall (Linux Professional Institute), Joan Cwaik, Julieta Luz Porta (Mycorrhiza), Milo Lockett, Paulina Cocina, Damian Kuc, Federico Lauría, among many others. The day also included an offer of multidisciplinary workshops presented by Telecom and designed so that the community could access technological tools to build a future, consciously and responsibly. Jon “Maddog” Hall, Executive Director of Linux International & Board Chair of the Linux Professional Institute, was in charge of opening this new edition of Campus Summit with a conference on free and open source software where he reviewed from his personal and work experience to the importance of technology in the freedom of people and highlighted: “People need solutions and computers are precisely the tool that allows us to do everything we need. Thanks to the software, there are different possible solutions without having to ask permission.”

Later, it was time to listen to Joan Cwaik, Matías Massotti, Nicolás Fernández Miranda, in their panel Emerging technologies, neurosciences and telemedicine. With a room full of entrepreneurs, students, executives and content creators, Cwaik and team told how technology is a key instrument in the processes of change and adaptation. “We are in a world where technology advances by leaps and bounds and far behind human life. It is necessary to balance fears and possibilities and not face technology, but to be able to take advantage of the opportunities it has,” said Joan Cwaik. Then, Julieta Luz Porta and Paz Álvarez joined to tell their experience as entrepreneurs with impact on science and technology. Both, with a unique clarity and charisma, recounted their journeys inside and outside entrepreneurship and how teamwork facilitates carrying out innovative projects. They are also convinced that the opportunities are there, you just have to be attentive and prepared for when they arrive. “The one who achieves is the one who moves,” said Julieta Luz Porta. Clara O’Farrell, an Argentine speaker who is part of the NASA team, captured the attention of the audience with her talk on From Mars to Earth: development of new technologies to collect samples from the red planet. Clara also picked up the gauntlet of technology and innovation when she mentioned: “Being part of a team that designed and tested the Perseverance parachute, gave me the possibility to experience the great challenge of launching a rocket from another planet. The goal of the mission is to tour a lake that will allow us to find life on Mars.”

And Asier Arranz, AI Developer Marketing Manager at NVIDIA, as a faithful campusero who accompanies this event long ago filled the stage and debated Is artificial intelligence more creative than you? Maybe so! What does the future hold? To close, after a day for all tastes and interests, going through crypto, NFT, music and entertainment, science and environment, Paulina Cocina and Damián Kuc were in charge of closing a robust, varied and super interesting agenda. What did they talk about? From her time on YouTube, her experience with the social network, and even some advice from Pauilina that made the full audience laugh: “We all have to have a manager”. “We close another face-to-face edition of this great event with great pride, more than 3000 campuseros in one place. We love to bring more people this innovative experience that allows learning and entrepreneurship in the world of technology, “said Lucrecia Gratas, Project Manager Southern Cone of Campus Party. This culminated a new edition of Campus Summit, the largest technology event that brought together innovation leaders in Buenos Aires in a day full of debate, ideas and learning.
