Cases reach two thousand 654

Monkeypox cases in Mexico reached 2,654, the federal Health Secretariat reported Tuesday. That’s up 186 percent from last week or up 7.5%.
In its technical report, the agency in charge of Jorge Alcocer indicated that there are infections in the 32 entities of the country and so far no death has been registered due to this disease.
By entity, Mexico City tops the list of cases, with one thousand 601.

They are followed by Jalisco (301), State of Mexico (272), Yucatán (93), Quintana Roo (58), Tabasco (39), Nuevo León (30), Chiapas (28), Puebla (25), Veracruz (20), Baja California (19), Querétaro (17), Morelos (16), Guanajuato (16), Sinaloa (13), Chihuahua (13), Hidalgo (12) and Coahuila (11).
The rest of the entities have fewer than 10 cases each.
So far, 98% of infections have been among men and the remaining 2% among women.

Groups have been asking federal health authorities for several weeks to strengthen contagion prevention measures and acquire the smallpox vaccine.
However, the Ministry of Health has not given more information about the possibility of that purchase.
