La Plata: A martial arts fighter was arrested and attacked police officers

A martial arts fighter was arrested in the city of La Plata and, while staying at the 4th Police Station in Berisso, had a loud argument and savagely attacked four policemen and a cellmate. The incident occurred when the attacker, identified as Pablo Ariel Pombo, had a strong exchange with another of the detainees. The situation worsened when the fighter hit his head against the tip of a bed and began to assault the police officers who were trying to separate them. For the attack, four members of the Fourth Police Station of Berisso had to be treated for serious injuries, while the detainee, 27, had to be hospitalized for the blow to his head. After several minutes, when Pombo came out of his state of anger, he was able to be held and SAME personnel transferred him to the hospital in the area. The Justice determined that the detainee will be charged with “attack and resistance to authority, aggravated injuries and damages.”

Witnesses reported that the scene began with screams from the martial arts fighter, who was looking to fight with another detainee, and when the police approached to see what was happening, he began to hit his head with the edge of his concrete bed. He immediately got up and began to throw pineapples and kicks, which generated a strong blow to the knee of the main officer, then bit the nipple of another policeman and ended up headbutting the nose of another agent and the hand of the fourth officer. The local media El Día de La Plata reported that Pombo is a native of Claypole and was arrested days ago accused of holding captive a 54-year-old man inside a campsite located on Paulino Island.In those circumstances, the owner of the family and fishing complex alerted the police about the presence of a subject carrying a firearm, and who had kidnapped one of his employees. He was then arrested under the heading of “illegitimate deprivation of liberty and aggravated threats by the use of a weapon.”
