In the framework of his participation in the annual meeting of the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (Sofofa), the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, highlighted the work of the business community in the fight against bad practices.
In that sense, the President had words for the president of Sofofa, Richard Von Appen, assessing how they have faced bad practices within companies.
“I want you to know that I deeply value Richard’s experience of how the business sector seeks to address the bad practices that have occurred in some companies. In such an unfair when they are all put in the same bag, when in the case of the collusion of chickens, pharmacies or toilet paper it is said that all entrepreneurs are such a thing, “he said.
“That is why it is important to act firmly, why it is important that politics, for example, in cases of corruption, acts firmly. Not everyone is the same and the majority, I have no doubt, of the businessmen in Chile are honest, hardworking people who want the best for their country,” the head of state added.
According to La Tercera, President Boric highlighted the behavior of Von Appen, with whom they have been able to discuss the various issues in a respectful manner.
“I personally have differences and disagree with some of the things that you Richard may have raised, but I am not worried, but I celebrate it because the tone and disposition with which I have always met with the president of Sofofa means that we can meet and discuss these differences in a respectful framework,” he said.
Regarding the economic situation in the country, the head of state acknowledged problems around productivity and assured that La Moneda will be willing to seek solutions.
“We have problems of stagnation in productivity and if we have those shared diagnoses, how can we not be able to agree to move them forward. Here, in this government. And I say this with great responsibility, they will have the doors open to be able to look for those best solutions, “said the President.
