Pablo Moyano asked for a bonus for workers who earn below the basic basket

Pablo Moyano said that it is “fundamental” that the government establish a bonus for those workers who receive salaries below the basic basket and remarked that “that money remains in domestic consumption.”
“A bonus is essential for those union organizations that do not cover the basic basket. It is essential that the government announces it by the end of the year,” said the co-secretary general of the CGT in statements to Radio 10.

For a household of four, the Total Basic Basket (includes food and non-food goods and services such as clothing, transportation, education, health, among others) is $128,214.11, according to INDEC data. The assistant general secretary of the Union of Truck Drivers also reiterated his demand for universal payment of family allowances.
“It would be very important (to move forward with both proposals), because that money remains in domestic consumption. It’s not that the laborers are going to put together a Panama Papers,” he said.

When analyzing the economic situation, he complained that “there is permanent pressure from the big price generators, the speculators.” “Hopefully little by little in the coming months inflation will go down,” he said. On the other hand, he stressed that the union led by his father, Hugo Moyano, did not have to carry out any measure of force in the joint discussion: “You know the responsibility you have. Having carried out a measure of transport force was going to be a major problem for the country and we did not want to leave our organization as if it was out of stock.”
On the other hand, when asked about his relationship with the leader of La Cámpora, the co-secretary general of the CGT denied that they are building an “internal line” in the government. “As in the CGT, as in the opposition, in the government there are different opinions. I am not going to create an opposition to my government and we are going to bank it until the last day of the mandate. Let there be debate, welcome, but from there to create an internal line … It doesn’t make sense,” he explained. Pablo Moyano harshly criticized former President Mauricio Macri and considered that “long ago he should have been declared a traitor to the Homeland, traitor.” “Macri’s obsession is the laburantes and that is why he threatens with labor reform. Always attacking the laburantes,” he said. Finally, he said that “if the right returns and in the first measures they take against the farmers, we will always be the same ones who will be in the street and there will be strong resistance to defend what has been achieved.”
