O’Higgins, Metropolitana, Biobío and Antofagasta: the regions with the highest Covid-19 positivity in the last week

According to the sample, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Metropolitana, Biobío and Antofagasta. Meanwhile, the Aysén region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Ñuble, Los Ríos and Biobío.
According to today’s report from the Ministry of Health (Minsal), of 5,228 new cases of Covid-19, 539 correspond to symptomatic people and 104 do not have symptoms. In addition, there were 4,585 positive PCR tests that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,756,206. Of this total, 16,987 patients are in the active stage, considering an isolation of 5 days from the onset of symptoms or from the taking of the test, according to the criteria of the Opening phase. Recovered cases are 4,665,606.
As for the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours 25 deaths were registered due to causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths is 61,677 in the country.
To date, 102 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 64 are on mechanical ventilation support. With regard to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 313 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 33,327 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 46,134,828 analyzed nationwide. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 15.53% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 19.37%.
With regard to the Health Residences, we have 17 accommodation facilities, with 1,096 total beds. The actual occupancy nationwide is 33%, leaving a total of 554 beds available for use.
