Segalmex head must explain irregularities in dependency

Leonel Cota, head of Mexican Food Security (Segalmex), must appear before the ASF Surveillance Commission of the Chamber of Deputies to explain the irregularities that have been found in the agency.
PAN Deputy María Elena Pérez-Jaén Zermeño, who requested the appearance, said that the Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF) has conducted several compliance, performance and financial audits that “make clear the disaster that deprives Segalmex” so she asked to carry out the corresponding investigations and sanctions.

The INE is the guarantor of democracy in Mexico, if it were to be weakened with this reform, we would pass to the authoritarian Mexico that Morena and AMLO want in their anti-democratic and totalitarian pursuits, and we will never allow that: @JorgeRoHe

According to the PAN member, the ASF, in audits 283-DE and 327-DE, detected that resources of more than 5 billion pesos must be clarified.
Segalmex’s irregularities
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) has received 38 criminal complaints filed against Segalmex for possible organized crime.
The complaints have been filed after pointing out acts of alleged corruption that caused an administrative dismantling in Segalmex, Diconsa and Liconsa.

The Superior Audit of the Federation (ASF), on the occasion of the review of the Public Account 2020, promoted various actions in the three institutions, which add up to a list of 22 observations for 3 thousand 465 million pesos.
The irregularities detected were committed in the administration of Ignacio Ovalle, who was removed from office in April of this year.
Although it is not known precisely how much the amount of budget damage recorded by the ASF in its complaints, a review of the Public Account of 2019 and 2020 shows that 43 lists of observations were made for a misuse of public resources for 4 thousand 793 million 411 thousand 130 pesos in both fiscal years.
