Automotive industry: vehicle production grew 27.8% in October

The national production of vehicles registered an increase of 27.8% year-on-year in October, while exports marked an increase of 43.9% in the same period, according to the Association of Automotive Manufacturers (Adefa).
The entity said that in October 52,415 units were produced, 0.4% more than in September and 27.9% higher than in the same month of 2021.
Likewise, 37,326 vehicles were exported, with an increase of 5.5% compared to September and 43.9% more than in the same period of 2021.
With 33,087 units, sales to dealers were 4.4% below the September figure and 30.8% above the same month last year.

In this context, the head of Adefa, Martín Galdeano, stressed that with two working days less compared to September and “in a challenging context of supply, the sector managed to increase daily production by 11% compared to the previous month and almost 28% compared to the daily of October 2021 “.

“We must continue working and dialogue with all the members of the value chain and the authorities, to contemplate the implementation of the new SIRA system and its harmonization with production plans, with the aim of maintaining the levels of growth that the sector is registering,” he said. In the accumulated of the first 10 months of the year, the automotive terminals produced 446,396 units (passenger and utility vehicles), which marked an increase of 28.1% compared to the 348,414 units that were produced in the same period of 2021.

For its part, in the accumulated of the ten months of this 2022, the sector exported 268,182 units, that is, there was an increase of 29.5% compared to the same period last year, when 207,159 units were shipped. Finally, with regard to wholesale sales (to dealers), the accumulated of the year shows that 307,528 units were reached, that is, 12.3% more than the same period of 2021 in which 273,855 vehicles were marketed.
