You Señalemelo played live again and proved that your indie is at the highest level

When the curtain of the Vorterix Theater opened on Thursday night and the first chords of “Nuevo Inicio” began to sound, the band’s impasse after releasing the single Pastizal in 2019 (they had disappeared from the scene without ever announcing an official separation), regained meaning and we understood that that time was not in vain. From Mendoza they came to take over the Buenos Aires and national scene and their place is already undisputed. They are the referents of a new indie rock, which was born in the province, along with other recognized local bands and that talent soon expanded and crossed provincial and national borders. Iconic for his generation, with a well-dressed and characteristic audience, he filled the Vorterix with an occasion more than a celebration: they got back on stage and gave away that energy of Andean airs. With friends and family present, colleagues from the scene and that faithful fans who sang and played the hour that the show lasted, the Usted Señalemelo showed maturity, evolution and above all neatness and good taste but with much, much explosion in their return.

Un Nuevo Inicio, like his song, is just the beginning of the new stage of Juan Saieg, Lucca Beguerie Petrich and Gabriel “Cocó” Orozco. So they themselves, as hosts of the comeback, invited their audience: they announced the free show and tickets sold out in less than 15 minutes. Yes, lucky and lucky those who got them because the recital revitalized the most authentic of indie. Lockeados each with their style, the trio, although accompanied by more musicians on synthesizers and other instruments, made it clear that they returned and that they have a lot to give. There wasn’t a song that the audience didn’t sing at the top of their lungs. More than a recital it seemed like a court for the euphoria of seeing the favorite band of so many after three years.
Big Bang, Pana, Pastizal, Siento and Laser 420 were some of the hits of his two albums: the homonymous of 2015 and II of 2017. But the revolutions went down only a little but not the voices when the acoustics arrived with La Bestia and Agua Marfil, a song that marked the adolescence without a doubt of the generation of which they are contemporaries, those songs of fire that bare feelings of full youth. But they also had the pleasure of advancing material from the new album, which although we already know New Beginning, premiered Nena and Tras with the attentive gaze of the pogo that calmed down and surprised at the new. However, the energy was turned on again and one of the highest moments was when Cocó, to the rhythm of the audience’s harangue, played a solo that unstitched the guitar and stage.
Those who were left with the desire to see the band will not have to wait long: they were already confirmed for Lollapalooza 2023 and Cosquín Rock, and surely there will be new solo dates to present their new work, because as we say for Mendoza, with this similar return, bring doors, that handles are left over.
