Kiev: 438 children have died in Ukraine since the start of the war

The Russian military has killed at least 438 children in Ukraine since the invasion began on Feb. 24. The last one died last morning, a newborn in a maternity hospital in the southern region of Zaporizhia. This was reported on Wednesday (23.11.2022) by the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office on its Telegram account.
“As of the morning of November 23, 2022, more than 1,279 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation,” the Prosecutor’s Office reported. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, “438 children were killed and at least 841 were injured.”
Inaccuracy in figures
The institution noted that these figures are not definitive, since work is still being done to determine the real number of casualties in the areas where hostilities are active, that is, where there is fighting between both sides.
Prosecutors said they also cannot confirm the deaths that have occurred so far in territories that remain occupied by Russians and those that have recently been liberated.
Prosecutors highlighted the death of a newborn baby early this morning, when a maternity ward of a hospital in Vilniansk, in the Zaporizhia region, was attacked.
