“I’m in the dream place for any Argentine,” says DT Scaloni after passing to the final

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni was emotional on Tuesday and said he is in the place any compatriot would want to occupy after his team qualified for the World Cup final with a 3-0 win over Croatia.
Argentina overcame the 2018 World Cup finalist with a great game from Lionel Messi, who scored a goal and provided two assists, and a double from Julián Álvarez.

“I am in the dream place for any Argentine (…) What these guys do is exciting, just like the people. Everything goes hand in hand (…) In difficult moments people were with us and that is unmatched,” Scaloni told a news conference.
“Argentina is on the pedestal of football and that’s to be happy,” he added.
Messi was voted the best of the match, but many – including the “albiceleste” captain himself – said that the great figure was Alvarez.
“Julian’s game is very good, not only because he scored two goals but because he gave us a barbaric hand to cover the three midfielders they had on the pitch,” said the coach about the Manchester City attacker.
“It has an incredible deployment (…) He is a guy who does what you tell him, and we are happy because he can translate his work into the network.”
The coach highlighted the performance of his managers against the team led by Luka Modric.

“Playing against this team is not easy, for something it is where it is (…) Winning is always good, and more so and in a semifinal, “he said.
In the final, Argentina will face the winner of Wednesday’s match between France and Morocco.
“I never went looking for opponents, they both deserve to be there because they are two great teams,” Scaloni said when asked which team he would like to face.
