Ministry of Health reports 24 new deaths associated with Covid-19

On Saturday morning, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) – through the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS) – added 24 new deaths to the national list due to the Covid-19 pandemic (23 confirmed and 1 probable). In addition, a PCR positivity rate was reported to reach 11.80%, with 101 consecutive double-digit balances.
With today’s report, deaths associated with the pandemic reached 63,640, assets rose to 7,326 and cumulative infections climbed to 5,101,837. In addition, the Minsal reported the detection of 2,276 new infections in Chile, 1,453 symptomatic, 186 asymptomatic and 637 positive diagnoses that were not reported to patients.
Although testing fell and has been under 20,000 daily samples for weeks, Minsal estimates that the pandemic is declining, 23.8% in the last week and 31.9% in 14 days. “Of the 2,276 new cases, 59% are diagnosed by antigen test, 29% originate from active case finding (BAC) and 11% of those notified are asymptomatic,” they detailed in a statement.
Finally, the Government estimated 967 hospitalized for a picture of covid-19, 118 of them in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with updated data until this Friday. With the result of the day, the total number of patients in the active stage of the disease rose from 7,043 to 7,326, 2,599 of them in the Metropolitan Region.
