New controversy in Foreign Ministry: Israeli ambassador was annoyed by statements against the attack in Palestine

The Foreign Ministry of our country is going through a second diplomatic impasse so far this week. And this time, there was annoyance from the Israeli ambassador, Gil Artzyeli, for the government’s condemnatory statements against the “serious acts of violence that occurred in Jenin, Palestine.”
In particular, the words pointed to Israel’s indiscriminate attack and use of force in a refugee camp, which ended with multiple injuries and nine deaths.
As a result, Gil Artzyeli expressed his discontent commenting on the publication of the Foreign Ministry through a Twitter, where he pointed out that “the Israeli counterterrorism operation, based on intelligence information, aimed to thwart attacks to kill civilians.”

He also charged that “Jenin has become a university of terror,” referring to the fact that international law gives all countries the right to defend themselves against terrorism that seeks to kill civilians.
“Israel has the obligation and duty to prevent terrorist attacks so as not to regret victims,” adding that “what in Chile is described as ‘innocent youths’ are armed terrorists complying with what its Constitution indicates, among others, which is to kill any Jew, inside or outside Israel.”
It should be noted that the statements that generated Artzyeli’s annoyance were published through a statement, where they noted that “along with condemning and deploring these deaths, the Government of Chile calls for respect for international humanitarian law and human rights, as well as to put down any unilateral action of force ”

They also added that “at the same time, Chile once again calls for the prompt resumption of political dialogue between the parties, which will allow progress in a process that leads to lasting peace and security in the area.”
It should be remembered that last September there was already a controversy with the Israeli embassy, since the authority went to La Moneda to present its credentials, and President Gabriel Boric did not receive it, arguing that he should postpone the appointment due to an incident in Gaza that involved children.
