Storm in Chubut: strong winds cause damage

On Saturday morning, a strong wind storm affected the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, located in the province of Chubut, and caused roofs to blow up and trees to fall, light poles and bus windows to explode. In addition, the National Weather Service, which had issued a yellow level weather alert for strong winds in the eastern part of the province, decided to raise it to orange and cover the south-east area. Meanwhile, from the government authorities it was reported that “there were gusts of 120 kilometers per hour, which even reached 157 kilometers” and that municipal staff is already working in the most affected places. The suspension of public transport was also announced and, although there were no injuries, they recommend neighbors not to leave their homes unless necessary. On the other hand, as for the election day on Sunday, it is estimated that it will be developed with attention to the weather so that the 470,000 citizens qualified to vote can elect governor, provincial deputies, mayors, councilors and popular representatives to the Council of the Magistracy of the province by three districts. Although no new alerts were issued for Sunday, it is expected to start cloudy.
