Without Tinelli and with Riquelme: the informal meeting of the leaders of La Liga

With the calmest spirits after what were the first crossings with the movement to ask for the removal of Marcelo Tinelli and the response of the leader of San Lorenzo, this Tuesday the last informal meeting of the Professional Football League (LPF) was held where the central issue went through the future of the league.
On this path, the president of the competition was not present for his trip to Uruguay and the one who surprised without any prior notice was Juan Román Riquelme, to know the movement and publicize the position of Boca Juniors in this situation, where a consensus is sought. In this sense, and for just over two hours, the vice president xeneize participated in an event in which it was decided to postpone the removal of Tinelli for the scheduled appointment of Tuesday, January 11, where the majority (there are already 15 firm clubs and another 3 in doubt) will apply article 16, paragraph 8, to request the change of authority.

The meeting at the hotel in Puerto Madero was considered informal, without a concrete deal on an agenda, but where the foundations were laid for what may happen in January, when the change of presidency is bet and in this case there will be an interim of the first vice president and then a call for elections. Ricardo Carloni of Rosario Central, Luis Chebel of Lanús, Héctor “Yoyo” Maldonado of Independiente, José Lemme of Defense and Justice and David Garzón of Huracán were some of the leaders who led this change and where Cristian Malaspina, of Argentinos Juniors, would be the head and possible successor of Marcelo. in which it was made clear that the majority seeks to avoid a “cunning coup” (as Tinelli denounced) and organize the new structure of the Professional League within a period of between 45 and 60 days, once the elections are called.
