“How are you doing bug?”: the touching memory of a young woman to her grandfather

“How’s it going, bug?”, is the phrase that Lucía has engraved on her skin, with which her grandfather, Lalo, received her every time he saw her. Then, he offered her one of his Butter Toffees candies, which he had stored in a small bag. He lived in the province of San Juan for ten years, then he traveled and moved to Ushuaia with his granddaughter. In 2023 he passed away, so Lucía decided to capture his memory in a particular tattoo that represents every moment shared. The memory of Lucía became the memory of many, when tattoo artist Lucía Franzé shared a photograph of this newly made tattoo on her networks. Thousands of grandsons and granddaughters felt very identified with the story and some even shared other similar tattoos with Butter candies, Toffees.La brand echoed the story and contacted both Lucías to send them these candies that gave them something to talk about and propose to record this fact. In this regard, Belén Mataloni Beker, Product Manager at Arcor, commented: “We began to receive messages through different channels, many enrapturing the brand, telling us stories like Lucía’s around Butter Toffees.” All this filled us with emotion and we felt the need to record this story of which, in some way, we also felt a part. Without a doubt, they are a symbol that unites us and that crosses generation after generation,” he added. On Grandfather’s Day, the candy company published a video with the word of the protagonist and her tattoo artist.
