“collaborative communities, intelligent territories”, that is the message that the Summit of smart cities, Smart City Expo LATAM Congress will be in Center of the discussion to detonate in Latin American cities urban planning initiatives and to provide better living conditions for the population.
From 11 to 13 September, the Puebla Convention Center will host the meeting which will be attended by more than 12 thousand visitors, 220 speakers, 140 companies, more than 100 national and sub-national Governments, 50 collaborative institutions, 250 representatives of national and international cities that will participate in more than 50 conferences.
Organised by Fira Barcelona, the Forum will present trends, innovations and research projects on topics such as sustainable territories and resilient, Open Government, Enterprise and economic development, Co-Cities: participatory communities and Collaborative, and Digital transformation among the speakers are Robert Muggah, security, migration, cities and development specialist; Charles Landry, an expert in the use of imagination and creativity for the urban transformation; and Monica Araya, creator of the first platform for electric mobility in Latin America.
The process of reconstruction of cities post – disasters, will be analyzed using various approaches and models, which will be in charge of the specialist Patricia Torres, Dean of the architecture school of art and design in the technological Institute and studies Superiores de Monterrey.    
January 2018, signed the agreement to form the Alliance Smart Latam as an initiative that emerged from the previous edition of the Congress of smart cities. It is a platform on a permanent network of Latin American cooperation that allows joint efforts to promote the advancement of the cities and territories towards the model Smart City that allows to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the region.
In this Edition, there will be more than 50 tables of discussion on the challenges of resilience in Latin America and the Caribbean, the role of education and culture in intelligent territories, the power of alliances between intelligent territories, as well as the modernization and innovation in urban services.
