The sample consists of twelve three-dimensional works of different formats which, according to the artist, can be defined as “realistic wall sculptures, and seeking to demonstrate the registration of human processes in ruminate everyday”.
In “Transplant of simulated urban”, the artist forces us to return the stare-down and review, in the imagination, the streets all have trodden.
Matilde Videla offers us a reflection on those spaces and urban materials that fall into the fog of everyday life, begin to turn invisible and disappear, but which however saved tracks and fundamental signs of our identity as inhabitants of the city.

These tracks, which is elevated from the floor to the wall, moving from horizontal to vertical, are all associated with the fragmentation and decontextualisation of spaces paved, worked by way of simulation. In each work are appreciated fissures behind which a layer tears; involuntary, by the passage of time, or built in the form of drains, sewers or emerging weed tops.
Matilde works an illusionistic technique with real materials: cement, sand, gravel, tar and iron, as well as the anonymous laborers who work the streets, but she does it on the surface and from his workshop. “This produces a kind of fiction, getting a”simulated reality”, taking a closer look at details of naturalistic mode that manifest with amazement the footprint of gait in landscapes of concrete”, as Ana Videla, his presenter, at the opening ceremony.

Matilde Videla studied BA in art at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and theatre design at the University of Chile. It focuses on cultural projects in the area of theatre, dance, Visual Arts and pedagogy.
Urban simulation is one of the projects selected for the 1st call for exhibitions of the Municipalidad de Santiago 2017.
