The announcement of Muñoz Ledo was given in the context of the discussion in the San Lázaro plenary of the Gender Parity Act, which was approved in general and in particular on May 14th in the Senate.
During the session, members of different parties spoke in favour of legislating for gender parity, in order to fully guarantee their rights and to eradicatedize political violence against women.
