The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, on Sunday that previous governments left a “construction dump” unfinished, or that they are in abandonment.

“We have other plants, that plant that was bought in Pajaritos, plants in Cosoleacaque, plants in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, to produce fertilizers, but everything is in abandonment, disarticulated, then we are thinking how to integrate all these plants to to be able to produce fertilizer, and not to have to buy fertilizer, in order to be self-sufficient.”
The case of plants like Camargo’s, he said, is a sample of how pre-country governments left, “almost ruined,” although according to the federal representative “with what they left us, we’re going to be able to achieve the rebirth of the country.”
López Obrador said his government is looking to initiate a general rehabilitation of these plants in abandonment, although only works that can be completed during their six-yearly life will be done.
“I don’t want to start anything that’s not going to end,” he said.
