translated from Spanish: Durazo accedes to requests from feds; elements expand lawsuits

The Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Alfonso Durazo said that federal police officers who pass to the National Guard will keep their wages, benefits and seniority, as they asked for the elements that manifested themselves on Wednesday.
At the conference, Durazo stated that “at no time have any of their rights related to wages, benefits, seniority, grade and all the administrative characteristics that define their situation in the Federal Police been violated.”
He assured that the transfer to the National Guard will be voluntary, and his wages will be approved, in addition to having private medical expense insurance.

After hearing Durazo’s message, dissenting police officers said they will expand the petition statement they will present to the authorities at this afternoon’s negotiating table.
Their new requests are: that they return the elements that were commissioned to migration tasks, that the civilian command be respected, and that they put tabs to liquidate those who decide not to enter the Guard.

Police officers in St. Lucia waiting to be deployed to Baja California arrived at the Iztapalapa facility to join the protest.

On the physical and medical evaluations that are carried out to enter the National Guard, Durazo assured that they are not violating their rights, nor an obstacle to them doing their work, on the contrary they are “a measure to safeguard their lives and integrity by the physical efforts that may require the fight against crime.”
Durazo said a transition office will be set up in the Federal Police’s labor centers, providing information on work options inside and outside the Guard, as well as legal advice and administrative guidance to “overcome the misinformation.”
