This Sunday the third auction was held so far in the 2019 years of the National Customs Service, which raised about 290 million pesos. A total of 277 batches of goods that were in custody in the outbuildings of the cities of Santiago, Osorno, Talcahuano and Puerto Montt were topped off. According to the agency’s report, more than 200 people participated in the auction carried out in the premises of the Customs Training Center and that finally raised the sum of $288,588,000. The regional director (s) of the Metropolitan Customs, Rodrigo Díaz, detailed that “in this auction we had quite an interest in various lots highlighting undoubtedly the gold bars that were auctioned at $208 million and which were topped by the same person”. In the same vein, Diaz added that “we should highlight the bid among the lots that contained jewelry, watches and clothing items.” Among the most anticipated auctioned items were the two gold bars found in Casa Moneda, which were awarded 88 and 120 million pesos, respectively. For this 2018, Customs has scheduled 6 auctions in total, of which one has already been made in Valparaiso, which raised $176,351,460, and another in Iquique ($313,482,960). In September, October and December the following auctions will be made, in Valparaíso, Iquique and Santiago, respectively. In 2018 the 4 auctions carried out in Iquique, Santiago and Valparaiso allowed to raise $1,800,559,530 for the tax coffers.
