During this Friday, the Association of Health Industry Providers (APIS) announced a claim for insults against the Ministry of Health, due to the sayings of Jaime Mañalich, who denounced an alleged co-worker avoidance on the part of medical supplies providers.
According to the executive director of APIS, Eduardo del Solar, they are reacting to the sayings of Mañalich, who accused them of colluding against the public sector to threaten the non-delivery of supplies for debts that the state would maintain, so he filed a complaint to the Antitrust Commission of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (FNE).
With the lawsuit they plan, they seek to “defend us from an insult and a tremendous slander that the minister has made us. We think he did it to debunk what’s going on and divert attention by throwing the ball off the court.”
“We don’t want to sit down and talk about pay and the courts. We want to sit down and talk about how, together, we do better health for Chileans and we have better products in hospitals and more affordable,” biobio said, in radio statements.
However, he regretted that this focus needs to be resolved before moving towards the bigger problem: “We want you to pay us, unfortunately you will force us through a Court to ask you for explanations and to be able to verify your sayings, but the fundamental thing is that we pay,” he said.
