That’s why it’s essential to have agreements because you have to understand that everyone’s homework is all over here,” the mayor said.
From Elige Vidrio they indicated that “for years we had been working on an unprecedented model of recycling for the southern part of Chile, which was based on private public alliances, breaking all paradigms in this matter. Thanks to this model and the participation of the neighbors, we have collected more than 40 tons of glass that used to go to the landfill, thus promoting the circular economy in the city”.
For his part, Marcela Mansilla, manager of Southern Port Company Services, highlighted the presence of three of these bells in the city’s ports: “This comes to contribute with the care of the environment, starting us as workers of the company and will be extended to all people who carry out activities within the port.”
The six new bells are installed in the Prat, Tres Puentes and Mardones docks, as well as Plaza Muñoz Gamero, the Unimarc supermarket on Avenida España and the Carlos Ibáñez del Campo Airport.
Recycled glass
To date, more than 40 tons of glass have been collected, equivalent to 130,000 containers, and they would travel by boat to the port of San Antonio the week of August 20, where they will continue their way to the recycling plant.
