The Metropolitan Intendencia finally decided to authorize the Palestinian club to receive Colo Colo on Saturday at the Municipal Stadium of La Cisterna, despite the claims and the initial refusal of the mayor of the aforementioned commune, Sergio Rebolledo. In the run-up to the final decision of the regional authority, the communal chief of La Cisterna expressed his absolute rejection of the meeting being played in the ‘Arab’ redoubt. “We’re not rejecting Colo Colo as a team, we’re rejecting our commune’s risk with a bravaal bar that has a pretty ugly record (…) My first duty as mayor is to defend my community, families, commerce, urban infrastructure,” he said. The city council even approved last Tuesday the non-crossing in the communal compound, arguing that the stadium does not have the necessary security to receive the White Claw. However, the body headed by Karla Rubilar gave the go-ahead for the meeting between ‘Arabs’ and albos at the Municipal de La Cisterna, where both capitals did not play since 1995. Following inspections of the venue and Carabineros’ report, the authority set a capacity of 3,300 spectators for the clash on Saturday 24 at 3:30 p.m., of which 800 will be enabled for ‘Cacique’ fans.
