Kenyans Duncan Maiyo and Vivian Kiplagat won the 37th edition of the Mexico City Marathon, held on Sunday, in the elite men’s and women’s elite categories, respectively.
The marathon runners departed From Ciudad Universitaria towards the Zocalo Capitalino, on a 42,196-kilometer course.

Maiyo had a time of 2 hours 12 minutes 52 seconds, while Kiplagat made 2 hours 33 minutes 27 seconds, a mark mark in the category.

Ethiopian Girmay Birhanu Gebru took second place, with 2 hours 16 minutes and 14 seconds, while third place went to Amanuel Mesel Tikue of Eritrea, with 2 hours 16 minutes and 28 seconds.
