Following the recurring legal and ethical questions about the authorities’ travel abroad, it is that UDI MP Alvaro Carter proposes to create a regulatory framework for the travel of the overseas authorities and limit them to the maximum.
The idea, as explained by the trade union is explained, is to create a framework law that applies to all authorities on the occasion of an international or national trip and that this regulation includes all those travelling with public funds. “This law must look above all on the merits of the trip, its value, and the possibility of citizens having access to the reports that they must deliver at the end of each departure from the country,” Carter argued.
In the legislature’s view, it is essential that this matter is regulated by a legal rule, “certainly most trips abroad are useful and advantageous for the institutions or for the country, but there are others that are not justified at all and at times when and the discredit of the public is worrying, all measures must be taken to avoid increasing this discredit.”
For this reason, Mr. Alvaro Carter concluded, “we must be demanding with the usefulness of some trips and limit them to the maximum so that it is not a source of possible ilicides and does not seem like tourism for public officials”.
