Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán.- The municipal president of Lázaro Cárdenas, María Itzel Camacho Zapien, recognized the will of state authorities, municipal authorities and business groups, by putting aside the rhetoric and joining for the port, to develop actions give the inhabitants of that municipality a better quality of life.
During the signing of the federal executive’s application for tax incentives for the development of the port, the city concluded the willingness of those present to put the interests of the region above the party affiliation.
Camacho Zapien mentioned that a comprehensive and constant development strategy of the region must be implemented to reverse the lag and inequality of the different social sectors.
“We agree to call for an inclusive, comprehensive, sustainable, balanced and definitive development strategy for this region, which is head of the Federal Government and involving more levels of government, to be a spearhead at the national level and international.”
During his message, he stressed the importance of requesting the Federation, a legal figure that provides for tax conditions similar to the Border Free Zone.
Together with the governors of Michoacán and Guerrero, the mayor signed the request that will be given to the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
