Paris.- France began sending fire and drone teams to Bolivia on Saturday to fight fires in the Amazon region, in line with commitments made by President Emmanuel Macron during the G7 summit in Biarritz two weeks ago. An Airbus Foundation aircraft took off in the morning from Vatry airport, a hundred kilometres from Paris, with 38 military personnel specialists in civil protection accompanied by the French ambassador to Bolivia, Denis Gaillard, explained in a statement foreign and interior ministries.
Its mission, in coordination with the Bolivian authorities, is to participate in the firefighting efforts in the Santa Cruz region.
