A 17-year-old teenager was arrested as allegedly responsible for the femicide of his 15-year-old pregnant girlfriend with which he had argued.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State (FGJE) reported on the arrest of the young man, for his alleged involvement in the events of 15 September, in the municipality of Concepción del Oro, thus an investigation was opened.
It was the young man himself and his mother who took the teenager to medical care to the clinic of the Mexican Social Security Institute of that municipality. The child arrived lifeless, and upon observing the injuries medical personnel alerted the authorities.
“It is important to note that the child was taken to the hospital for medical care by her own romantic partner, a child under the age of 17, and her mother, who referred medical staff that the young couple had had an argument,” the young couple had had an argument, said communication from the Prosecutor’s Office.
The necropsy determined that the teenager, with an advanced state of pregnancy, died of choking by strangulation, so the young man was arrested, made available to the control judge and in the first minutes of Tuesday his legal detention was decreed.
FGJE disclosed that, due to the facts and context of death, the corresponding enquiry was opened, following the Protocol of Action in Cases of Femicide.
According to the newspaper Reforma, the child killed was eight months pregnant.
