The Metropolitan Autonomous University reported on Thursday the death of professor and researcher Emilio Domínguez Salazar, who was reported missing since September 30.

For his part, the Deputy Prosecutor in the Mixteca area, in Oaxaca, Jorge Alberto Flores, detailed to Animal Político that the Attorney General’s Office of that state received a request from the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City to conduct a search operation “in a Huajuapan de León” to find Emilio’s whereabouts.
According to the official, the unit in charge sought the teacher in hospitals and hotels in that municipality, until he was found at the Hotel México, where he had registered under a false name.
Flores added that the Prosecutor’s Office staff had to perform “maneuvers” to enter the room because the door was stuck and that there was no one else in the room at the time of the find.
Emilio Dominguez’s body was formally handed over to his relatives on Thursday at 2 a.m.
Emilio was 49 years old and a professor and researcher at the Iztapalapa campus, attached to the Department of Reproduction Biology, in the Division of Biological and Health Sciences. He was married to Dr. Beatriz Gómez who is also a professor at UAM Iztapalapa and UAM Xochimilco, and had five children.
The last time Emilio was seen alive, he was in the colony Leyes de Reforma, first section, mayor Iztapalapa.
On his Twitter account, UAM Iztapalapa lamented the death and extolled his condolences to the family.

Likewise this morning a minute’s silence was held as a tribute in the Division of Biological and Health Sciences.
On Wednesday, the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City reported that the teacher’s search was in the mayor of Iztapalapa but that “if necessary it would be extended to neighboring states”.
